Manatee County, Florida, is home to a variety of charitable organizations that offer volunteer opportunities for people of all ages. From aiding veterans transition to civilian life to providing nutritional assistance to those in need, there are plenty of ways to make a difference. The Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation is a nonprofit organization that works with Easterseals to provide veterans with the opportunity to transition into civilian life in a meaningful way. Through this partnership, veterans are able to grow food and experience nature on a certified organic farm.

The Manatee Food Bank is another great organization that provides nutritional assistance and care and support services to people in need throughout Manatee County. Volunteers can participate in a variety of activities, such as clean-up events, in-person outreach activities at marinas or visitor centers, seagrass restoration work, and more. The Save the Manatee Club is an incredible organization of more than 180 passionate women who contribute so much to Manatee and Sarasota Counties. They provide volunteer help and work with approximately 80 local nonprofit partner agencies and food pantries to get food into the hands of needy Manatee County residents.

Manatee watching volunteers are also needed at Blue Spring State Park during the summer months. These volunteers will educate visitors and help prevent manatee harassment. They will also provide information about the Club and manatees to the public and should be well informed (or willing to learn) about the protection of manatees and their aquatic habitat. The Daybreak Adult Day Center serves older adults in Manatee County with a planned program that includes a variety of health, social, and supportive services in a protective environment during the day.

Volunteers are needed to help provide these services. If you're looking for ways to give back to your community, volunteering with one of these charitable organizations in Manatee County is an excellent way to make a difference.
